Inspired by Changing leaves

Hi Beauties,
Halifax is beautiful in the fall, especially with the leaves changing colours hence this look was inspired by the trees on my street. The burnt oranges/copper, the reds and browns and golden tones all found on one tree that's right outside my balcony. If you look behind me in a few pics, you can see the trees. Soon the trees will be barren as it gets colder so I am taking it all in while I can.

For this look I used:
FACE: HARD CANDY SHEER ENVY PRIMER
MAC MATCHMASTER FOUNDATION IN 7.5, SET WITH STUDIO FIX FOUNDATION PLUS POWDER IN NW43
CLINIQUE UP LIGHTING ILLUMINATOR IN PEACH
CHEEKS: FOR CONTOURING RIMMEL BRONZER WITH MAC COOL LIQUID POWDER IN CAJUN AND NARS EXHIBIT ON TOP
EYES: ELF EYE PRIMER, ON THE LID LORAC INSPIRATION E/S WITH MAC ANTIQUED E/S, EMBARK IN THE OUTER CORNER AND CREASE. IN THE CREASE SACHA BUSTOP BLENDED OUT WITH MAC BROWN SCRIPT THEN APPLIED MAC COPPERING AND BLENDED IT OUT. LINED TOP AND BOTTOM LASH LINE WITH RIMMEL EXAGGERATE EYE KHOL AND TWO COATS OF DIOR BLACKOUT MASCARA.
LIPS: MAC FRESH MOROCCAN LIPSTICK

Hey there Doll face...

Hey there dolls, So I recently did a Doll inspired look the other day inspired by some very cheap lashes I bought from Ardene- 2 for $6. Unfortunately, there weren't even worth a dollar. Although I tried to make them work for this look, they were pretty stiff and hard to work with making it hard to blend my own eyelashes in with the fake ones. I don't think I will be trying them again no matter how cheap they are.

I also decided to try my sample of MAC Matchmaster Foundation. I got samples of 7.5 and 8. 7.5 was the suitable choice for my skin, in MAC Studio Fix I am normally NW43. I found 7.5 to be more on the yellow side but what I loved about it was that it dried completely matte compared to studio fix liquid which tends to look a bit oily after I apply it to my face. The technology behind Matchmaster foundation is that its supposed to let the true tone of your skin  come through so it would look more natural. I didn't really notice that my skin looked more natural but the coverage was really good. I applied a small amount and it covered my entire face from the sample size I got.  I really liked this foundation to the point that I am thinking of switching, so one of out 2 isn't so bad right.

For my lips I decided to fall in love again with an old favourite- Maroon Glaze from Sacha Cosmetics and for my cheeks I decided to use a new favourite Physician's Formula Happy Booster Blush in Rose to give my cheeks that perfect doll-like flush. Hope you like the look.

UP CLOSE OF MY $3 LASHES FROM ARDENE AND DIOR BLACKOUT MASCARA WHICH TENDS TO CLUMP A BIT

MAC MATCHMASTER SPF 15 FOUNDATION LAUNCH

I am as excited as a fat kid in a candy store to try out MAC's newest foundation "Matchmaster SPF 15". It launches here in Canada and in the US on the 22nd September. Why am I so excited you may ask? Well let me quote MAC themselves "New Foundation Technology using transclucent pigments to enable a fully personalized finish influenced by the subtleties of you own skin's undertone. Moisturizing demi-matte finish. Medium buildable coverage. Line-reducing soft-focus powders."  There are about 14 shades to choose from 1 being the lightest and 10 being the darkest.

I am always looking for the perfect foundation for black women. Let's face it the market/ industry doesn't really cater to the many different skin tones we have and we would either end up looking orange, grey, green, pale, oily, cakey, darker or lighter. So I will continue my never-ending search till I can fix this problem myself but I applaud those cosmetics company who are trying to remedy this sad situation. I am looking forward to the claim that it can match my own skin tone based on the subtleties and I like the fact that it's medium coverage which you can build on. My hope is that it is not too dewy since it is demi- matte and that it doesn't give my skin a grey cast because I have tried Jose Marin's personalized foundation which did that. So if you want to try out this new foundation, go to your MAC store next week and ask to try it out and if you still aren't sure because I find the lighting in MAC stores to be very deceiving, ask for a sample and take it home to try out in your own lighting. It would retail for about US$32.50 and CAD$ 39.00. It is a bit pricey so let's hope its worth it.
