Mo's Makeover Part 2

The Second prettified session with Mo was for her photoshoot for a magazine. She was being recognised for being a black entrepreneur in Nova Scotia yay! For this look, I  wanted to keep it neutral and sophisticated. Her purple dress and burgundy shoes along with one of her clutches already had enough colour in them.

LOOK:

FACE: MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation NW55, Pro Longwear Concealer
Cheeks: MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Trio Powder in TripleFusion.

MAC Magneta Madness = Magenta Sadness

So I recently bought MAC Magenta Madness Pigment ($18 US) and after all the initial excitement- I was disappointed. It is very chalky and has little adhesion on its own.  Doesn't  work as an eye colour. The colour is so vibrant in the jar but when you put it on it doesn't show up that bright, it tends to look more red than magenta especially when applied wet. I was researching ways to apply it to make the colour pop but I decided to try it on my lips to make a pink/fuchsia lipstick pop and a little more matte. I applied it with a lip brush over Covergirl Queen Collection Powderpuff Pink lipstick.
Swatch was disappointing

Vibrant pink lips

Oops split some...
Maybe I'll try it on nails next. What do you think? Would you rock bright pink lips?

MAC "Fresh Morrocan" Lipstick

Hi Beauties,
So I ventured to MAC today at the Hali Shopping Centre to check out lipsticks that I could get from their recycling program ( 6 empty MAC containers gets you a free eyeshadow or lipstick). I went with Vegas Volt in mind but it was a little too corally for my skin tone so I decided to try something different. The MUA decided I should try "Fresh Morrocan" and their most popular shade "O". Both looked amazing on me. Kwame perfers "O" which is like a neutral colour with a gold sheen but there is something special about "Fresh Morrocan"which is a bronzed brown colour with gold flecks but it could even pass as reddish sometimes. I loved it. Let me know what you guys think, if I should get it.

What do you think? Comment and let me know.

Revlon Candy Pink vs NYX Narcisuss

Hi Beauties, its been dull and dreary the past few days, depressing summer weather is making me miss home but I decided to blog about pink lipstick to cheer me up. I am excited however because its FRIDAY! And to top it off, Sephora has their grand opening at the Halifax Shopping Centre tomorrow! Me and my girl Mo are gonna go line up early to see if we can score goodies and check out their stock. Will try and take pics. So I recently purchased two light pink lipsticks- Candy Pink from Revlon $6.49 US (target or drugstores) and Narcisuss from NYX (lawtowns drugstore) $4.99 CAD. (the canadian dollar is a little bit higher than the us right now). Candy Pink is very sheer compared to Narcisuss but it goes on much better. Narcisuss requires some blotting and blending to make sure it looks smooth on your lips. I like both of them. I can see myself wearing Candy Pink every day (because its sheer I think it would work well on all skin tones) and Narcisuss when I am going for a barbie look. :)

I wore Narcisuss today with my fav bubble gum pink stila lipgloss

Sally Hassen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips Review

So I finally gave in and tried the Sally Hassen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips. I found them at walmart for $8.99 CAD. I really wanted the leopard print but they were out of stock so I settled from the zebra print. The other designs didnt seem that interested expect maybe the lace design. So it took me and my friend Mo about 40  mins to put these things on. After reading the instructions, out of the 16 strips you try to find the one that fits each nail the best. None of these strips fit my nails perfectly. I guess I have abnormally fat nails.lol Peeling off the strips is also a pain while Mo was trying not to tear them and place them on my nails. To remove the excess part of the strip the kit comes with a file which didn't really make sense. It didn't leave the edge of the strip with a clean look and sometimes it would tear the strip. So after getting them on and going to wash my face and do round the house things I found that they started tearing and chipping. Only after a few hours. Its been a few days and I still have them on because I think it hard to take them off after all that work we did. And they don't look terrible.
I think if you are looking for an "easy"  way to get nail designs then this would work. I give it a 1.5 out of 5.

Salon Effects along with a hard candy set from walmart
The instructions were simple enough

Chaos trying to find the perfect fit out of the 16 strips, plus some cute earrings  we found during our thrifting trip.

The filing down the excess part of the strip.

After about a week with them on.

All of my purple life Lipglass- Bloggers' Obsession

Hey beauties, I know its been a while. I have so much to update so bare with me. I am currently in Halifax, Canada. Been here for a week now and there's so much to blog about. I finally ordered All of my purple life lipglass from MACs Bloggers' Obsession after eyeing it for weeks. I got an email alert that they brought it back so when I got here I jumped on the chance. I put it on by itself but it didn't look that special so I decided to try it with a wet n wild idol eyes cream shadow pencil- 133. Its a shimmery purple and lined my lips with MAC Rave pearl glide eye liner which is a very eggplant colour. It looks so good. I can't wait to wear it out.
